It is suitable for complete beginners, as well as those who are familiar with eco-building and want to know more.

What the Eco renovation course will cover?
We will look at energy saving, from simple DIY tasks to major alterations with the relative costs of different measures. There will be a brief overview of realistic renewable energy options and the grants that may be available to you. Please note that the focus is purely on energy efficiency. We hope to offer an Eco renovation water conservation course in the near future.
Who is the course for?
This course is suitable for homeowners or landlords who want to learn about the changes they can make to their own homes and anyone who wants to learn about the best ways to make existing buildings more energy efficient. The whole house approach to saving energy may interest architects and builders as well.
Learning methods and outcomes
This is an interactive course tailored to the individual participant’s needs. By the end of the course, participants will be aware of the areas within their homes that they can make suitable changes, the estimated cost of these changes, and the associated financial, energy and CO2 savings. This will be achieved through information exchange, looking at case studies of local retrofits and individual and group sessions. Course participants who complete the entire course will receive a certificate, which will be sent via email after the course.
Participants are asked to complete an energy audit on their homes before the course using resources that we provide. This will enable you to gain the information that is tailored to your specific needs and leave with suitable changes that you can make.

If you are at the front of the Phoenix Gallery, please go around the left-hand end of the building. The Phoenix Centre is the old redbrick building in front of you and slightly to the right (the entrance is on the far side of the building).
If you intend to book accommodation, please check availability before booking a place, as accommodation in Brighton can be hard to find, especially over the summer months.
