The Brighton Permaculture Trust team is consistently reviewing the COVID-19 situation to deliver safe volunteering and learning opportunities.
We know that permaculture design can make a huge contribution toward creating practical, resilient and diverse solutions that will help to support our friends, families, communities and our planet, not only to cope, but to flourish.
Volunteering
At the time of writing Brighton and Hove is in Tier 2 with regular weekly volunteering opportunities going ahead. This will continue if Brighton and Hove moves to Tier 3, but if we are in Tier 4 or complete lockdown volunteering will be suspended. To be kept informed of volunteering opportunities please sign up to our volunteer email list.
Courses
Our Introduction to permaculture and Permaculture design courses are being run as virtual lessons with optional visits as and when the situation allows.
We have developed a new Self-building an Earthship in Europe virtual course.
Pruning old fruit trees is going ahead, with socially distanced outside practical sessions on the 16-17 January and the classroom learning part of the course delivered over Zoom on 9 January.
We are working on ideas to provide further online learning options.
We have suspended booking on many of our other courses for the time being. Please contact us via the relevant course page to be added to a waiting list. If we are able to run the course in a socially distanced and safe way we will re-open bookings nearer the course date, letting the people on the waiting list book first.
If you have a course booking you need to discuss please contact us
Events
Larger gatherings will be held online for the foreseeable future.
Our AGM will be held via Zoom later this year.
