Turning surplus fruit into something special

At Brighton Permaculture Trust, we believe in making the most of what we have. Through our Scrumped in Sussex project, we rescue unwanted apples, pears, and plums from local gardens and orchards and turn them into fresh juice, cider, chutneys, jams, and vinegar — all handcrafted at our Fruit Factory in Stanmer Park.

Visit the Fruit Factory Stall

Come and find us in person at our weekend stall in Stanmer Park.

Open Saturdays & Sundays, 11am–4pm (weather permitting)

Our stall is right outside the Fruit Factory, where we press, bottle, and ferment all our products. It’s the perfect spot to:

  • Browse and buy our full range of juices, ciders, jams, and vinegars
  • Pick up food forest nursery plants from our permaculture plot
  •  Learn more about our work and how to get involved

We love meeting people and chatting about scrumping, local food, and sustainability — come say hello!

For wholesale enquiries, get in touch — we’d love to hear from you.

Support us and the community

Between April 2020 and June 2023, we delivered 13,212 bottles of juice to people in need via our partners at FareShare Sussex. This was only possible thanks to kind donations and grant support. If you’d like to help us continue this work, please get in touch.

Volunteer With Us

Our scrumping project thrives thanks to volunteers who help pick, process, and bottle the fruit — and even come up with new flavour ideas! It’s a great way to get involved in local food resilience, learn new skills, and enjoy plenty of fruit along the way.

Have fruit to spare?

If you’re growing more fruit than you can use, don’t let it go to waste!

We offer:

A juicing service for individuals
The opportunity to donate fruit to our scrumping project
