Trustee

Living the permaculture ethics and inspiring others to embrace them is very close to my heart. That’s why I became a trustee of Brighton Permaculture Trust.

I completed the Permaculture Design Certificate in 2012. It was a life-changing experience. That feeling of learning with like-minded folks and having a real sense of community has stayed with me ever since.

After volunteering with Brighton Permaculture on many projects, I became a trustee at the end of 2019. My role as a trustee is to have strategic oversight of the running of the organisation, and it’s a task that I have the privilege to share with two other brilliant trustees. It has been a real learning journey for me.

I am a broadcast and media expert, an experienced digital content creator, and a learning and development specialist. I am also a community organiser. I bring those skills with me to support the organisation with strategic and practical oversight. In 2020, I played an important role in helping the organisation to provide courses online and in a blended fashion, while we were in lockdown. I also used my facilitation skills to support the organisation in shaping our most recent strategy. I am currently leading a project to bring new talent to the organisation as trustees and advisors.

I look forward to working with Brighton Permaculture for many more years, to bring about change in Brighton and Hove and make a difference to the local community.
