Racehill Community orchard

Racehill Orchard summer

Event Details

  • Date:

Tuesday 28th June at Racehill Orchard 10am – 1pm

Join Kirsty for a regular maintenance session. Work will focus on general maintenance and upkeep of the orchard – it is a huge and beautiful space and our aim is to look after needs of the fruit trees and maintain biodiversity. Racehill is a sanctuary for wildlife and as such is not a neat and tidy orchard which is part of it’s charm.

Please note: This session has some flexibility time wise so if you want to arrive later/leave earlier it is not a problem.
Please read for your safety – please be aware that Racehill orchard is a wild and wonderful place with many wild and wonderful flowers and plants too. There are some that can sting, some can scratch, some even have sap that can burn if it gets on your skin and is exposed to the sun. Therefore long trousers/sleeves highly recommended as are long socks and work boots/footwear with ankle protection. Shredded ankles aren’t fun!

Please read this article about the photo toxic plants we may have on site.

Please register for this session. You can come for all or part of the day, please let us know when you register.
