Saturday 23rd January was a cold damp and misty day, so we were delighted to have so many people turn up to help plant the last three trees at -:- Racehill Orchard.
By midday, around thirty people were gathered on top of a mist enshrouded Whitehawk Hill.
We started with a tour of the orchard with Neil Smith before getting stuck into the planting.
Two trees later, it was decided hot soup would be a good idea, so we had lunch and some delicious mulled apple juice.
After lunch we planted the last tree.
Thank you to everyone who came and helped make this such a special day!
The orchard will need ongoing care and maintenance and, with your help and support, will provide the local community with fruit for many years to come.
