This interesting video on food waste shows the 300 strong army of volunteers preparing and feeding a hot meal to five thousand people in the centre of Brighton last October.
The event was organised by Brighton & Hove Food Partnership, using food that would otherwise have gone to waste.
The programme (Food Rebels) meets Adam Buckingham of the Real Junk Food Project Brighton; Lindsay Boswell, CEO of Fareshare; and Tristram Stuart, the founder of the Feeding the 5000.
Spot Brighton Permaculture Trust volunteers Adam and Simon making apple juice from fruit that would have otherwise gone to waste.
We made 315 litres of juice and about 2000 people got to enjoy it!
