Green Architecture Day proudly supports International Women’s Day 2019: #BalanceforBetter
Stella Peyerl, event manager of Green Architecture Day explains:
For the three years since I have been managing this event, women have been given equal stage time, with an equal number of women speaking about their practice, research and lives. Our strategy board for the event is 50/50 male/female.
This is a true representation to other women and girls as to the contributions women make professionally.
I agree with one switched on young woman, Greta Thunberg, that ‘what we are seeing is the beginning of great change’ and I know there is a place for everyone at the table of that change.
Wishing you all a meaningful, educational and empathic International Women’s Day!
The talks at this year’s Green Architecture Day on Saturday 30 March will be on the theme of ‘Impacts of the built environment on health and wellbeing’. Providing insight, inspiration and vision, this years female speakers are:
- Maria Brenton from the UK Cohousing Network
- Dr Melissa Fernández Arrigoitia from Lancaster University
- Kath Scanlon from LSE London
- Karen Flatt from IBI Group
In addition to the female speakers, the event production and leadership teams are largely comprised of women. The event manager, our volunteer coordinators, stall coordinator and venue manager are all women.
If you visit the archive of previous events, you will gain free access to all the talks and slides in real time from previous years including the talks from these inspirational women:
Wishing you all a meaningful, educational and empathic International Women’s Day!
