We are very happy to say that we recently finished planting 20 new walnut trees with the help of our funders The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation in Racehill Community Orchard.
Many thanks to all that came and volunteered their precious time, certainly not limited to the very wonderful Brighton & Hove Conservation Volunteers and Maddy’s Fledglings forest school group who helped tremendously in getting all of the last trees in the ground!
This planting effort was a dream of Neil Smith who used to look after the orchard and sadly passed away a few years ago. Neil left a legacy in his will that has enabled us to carry out this work – consider doing the same if it feels right for you.
We will be planting lots more trees this winter. If you’d like to join us then please do consider joining our volunteering mailing list.
