06 JANUARY 2016
What an extraordinary past four years!
We are proud to announce that after four years of hard work with volunteers and Brighton and Hove Food Partnership, the planting of the 210-tree community orchard at Racehill in Whitehawk is complete.
Apart from the last three trees, that is, which we are holding back for a ceremonial planting on Saturday 23 January at 11:30am.
We are pleased to invite our supporters to celebrate with us. We will be on site from 11-3pm, and the ceremonial planting will take place at 11.30am. Please feel free to bring your family and friends along. We’ll be providing free refreshments and hot soup.
The last trees being planted doesn’t mean the fun and activities for local residents at Racehill will stop. There will still be plenty of opportunities to volunteer at the orchard.
The orchard will need ongoing care and maintenance. With your help and support, it will provide the local community with fruit for many years to come.
If you’ve not been to Racehill Orchard, it’s always open to explore and enjoy the views. -:- Get details of how to visit.
