New course dates to be announced
This half-day workshop runs from 10.30am to 1.30pm in Stanmer Park, Brighton.
Discover the diverse flavours and uses of Sussex apples growing in the national collection of Sussex apples
What will the workshop cover?
You will sample some of the distinctive Sussex apple varieties. Originating from around the county, they vary in taste, season and uses. You will also learn the basics of how to grow these trees. We will tour the orchards that contain the national collection of Sussex apples. This workshop will be held entirely outdoors unless the weather is bad.
Who is the workshop for?
The workshop is open to anyone over the age of 16, and no prior knowledge is necessary. If you are considering which Sussex apples to grow then this workshop is for you. Or you may simply wish to learn about the heritage of Sussex apples.
The tour will include a short walk of around one mile. Do dress appropriately, as we will not be deterred by poor weather conditions.
Where possible we aim to make our courses accessible to people with physical and learning issues. Please contact us before booking if you think something might affect your ability to take part in this course.
